If you're looking for Wisconsin teacher training, check out the great opportunities available through Ag in the Classroom. The training opportunities for Wisconsin teachers, classroom volunteers and anyone else who wants to learn more. You'll find sessions held throughout the year, in numerous locations across the state.

Attendees will learn to incorporate agricultural concepts into curricula, network with fellow educators and obtain free resources for students and classrooms. Wisconsin teachers of all grade levels and subject areas, home school parents, pre-service students and volunteers are invited.

FFA Food for America Agricultural Literacy Workshop

Calling all FFA agricultural literacy volunteers! Prepare for Spring events, like National Agriculture Week, Day-on-the Farms and school ag days with Wisconsin Agriculture in the Classroom! Enjoy a PRE-Halftime Conference workshop that will introduce you to new ideas, tips and tactics as well as materials to support your FFA network with volunteers and explore new partner opportunities for your FFA Food for America program.

This high impact event will feature four sessions:

10 a.m. – Are You Smarter than a Kindergartener?

Students come in all ages, stages and ideas! How are you going to ensure that your FFA has the right lesson and activity for your Food for America audience? Get in the NALO-Know to create age-appropriate lessons for your Food for America program!

11:30 a.m. - Lunch and Food for America Idea Sampling

Enjoy lunch while sharing ideas to grow your chapter’s Food for America Program! Lunch wraps up with an overview of the 2025 Food for America Recognition program.

12:15 p.m. - All Hands-on Deck!

Try your hand at these hands-on activities for agricultural literacy learners of all ages! Bonus – your chapter gets to take home the kit and put your hands-on know-how to work for your chapter’s Food for America program!

1:15 p.m. - Expand your knowledge and explore the Food + Farm Exploration Center

Spend time exploring hands-on exhibits and exploring Wisconsin's newest agricultural learning center!

Location
  • Workshop participants will meet at 9:45 a.m. at the Holiday Inn and Convention Center in Stevens Point to travel to the Food + Farm Exploration Center in Plover.
  • Workshop participants will travel roundtrip via bus to streamline workshop check-in and admission at the Food + Farm Exploration Center.
  • Participants will return to the Holiday Inn at 2:30 p.m. in time for the FFA Halftime Conference.
Registration Details

Registration is PER chapter (not per person) and includes:

  • Workshops and materials for 2 FFA members and 1 FFA advisor
  • Roundtrip transportation from Holiday Inn Stevens Point to Food + Farm Exploration Center
  • Ag Lit Kit ($150 Value!)
  • Lunch
  • Admission to Food + Farm Exploration Center

Receive all this for only $30 per chapter!
